Face to Face

Face to Face is a completely new type of made-to-order service, where customers can connect with our Atelier in Tokyo via smartphones or PCs from all over the world, and co-create their garment through dialogues with Yuima.
Although the distance between us may be far, the inspiration we gain from our online dialogues and the shirt that you provide us will be used to drive the creation of a one-of-a-kind garment for you.
This service is based on the charity project we launched on May 1, 2020, which was inspired by two factors. The first was our brand philosophy of delivering one-of-a-kind garments to as many people as possible. The second was a belief that fashion brands have a duty to provide a social contribution in the face of the current difficulties people are enduring around the globe at this time.

Drop Shoulder Kimono Jacket

Originally slightly too large for the client, this shirt was converted into a drop shoulder jacket. The garment’s details, such as the collar and sleeves, incorporate a dualistic approach so that the client can wear the garment both for business as well as everyday usage. The sleeves in particular have a dual structure with the cuffs converted to hand-knitted ones.

Patchwork Collage Jacket

Per the client’s preference, the jacket’s overall silhouette was designed as an elegant slim-fit, while the details on the asymmetric collar, the cuffs, and the garment’s sides utilize a casual finish. French linen was sewn onto the garment in a manner reminiscent of collage. This piece is designed to express a sense of hidden strength and freedom, drawn from the works of the client’s favorite artist.

Asymmetric Lace-up Dress

This business dress shirt was redesigned into an elegant asymmetric dress. The waist size is adjustable via draw cords on the side. The structure of the dress is three-dimensional, with beautiful panel lines and a shape similar to a wrap skirt.

V-Neck Gun Flap Shirt

French linen and knitted silk were combined with the high-quality cloth from the original shirt to create an everyday garment. Gun flap-like details were added to the front, while the collar, sleeves, and cuffs employ details that create a casual, soft feel.

Sleeveless Spring Coat

The shirt was reimagined as a spring coat with exquisite details kept from the original garment. Through their dialogue, Yuima envisioned the client gallantly walking down a beautiful European street. Accordingly, the silhouette was designed to convey a sense of coolness and elegance. The result is a perfect, versatile spring coat that boasts the comfortable texture of French linen.

Graphic Top

The original fitted shirt was transformed into a relaxed, three-quarter length top. A detachable hand-knitted hood creates a focal point around the neck, while also serving as an accent that helps compensate for an area that the client feels uncomfortable displaying. Inspiration drawn from the discussion with the client led to the three-dimensional graphic patterns featured in the garment.

Frill-layered Top

This frill-covered top is dainty yet sophisticated. The frills are layered upon each other to wrap the wearer’s entire body, resulting in a voluminous garment. In contrast, the gauzy hand-knitted trims give the piece a touch of elegance.
